Come ride your mountain bike at Taos Ski Valley's only approved
summer recreational area, and some of the best alpine mountain
biking anywhere, right here in northern New Mexico.
Explore approximately 25 miles of single-track
trails and
old grass covered two-track roads through beautiful stands of evergreen
forest, expansive groves of aspen,
and grassy meadows with spectacular views,
all available by private land access permit.
The terrain is best suited for the intermediate
and higher level rider. With our new Shuttle Service though,
you can bypass the first two or three miles of climbing and enjoy
more of the mountain! Click
here for more info.
You can climb
to the
highest point on the property of 12,163 ft.,
atop Frazer Mountain, or enjoy numerous other
overlooks, beautiful wildflowers, changing
colors and herds of Bighorn Sheep, Mule Deer
and Rocky Mountain Elk.
Daily, weekly, or seasonal permits for this fee-based recreational
area are for sale at area businesses and here on the web
site. Bicycle rentals are available in
Taos Ski Valley and in Taos.
Northside is also the home of the Frazer
Mountain Madness mountain
bike races, July 24-25, 2010.
Update 7-1-10:
We are open and looking forward to seeing you all up here!
Update 6-25-10:
Malachite is open now. Still only $5 till July 1st. Help
us build new trail on Sunday, June 27th & June 29th and earn a season
permit. Contact us for more info. Shuttle will start on July 1st.
More info
about that to come. Self serve kiosk will up by July 1st, but until
that time, please buy your permit before entering Northside. Thanks!
Update 6-18-10:
Everything is open except Malachite, lower Drainage, and
Dark Trail. Still some snow to skirt on Frazer Road at Drainage.
We have some signs that need to go up, the kiosk up, and some trail
buffing,
but
otherwise
things
are
ridable. Take advantage of the half off and please buy your permit
before heading up. Thanks!
Update 6-13-10:
With the unseasonably warm weather we've been having, some
of the trails are ready to ride. Still some are under snow and
we can't get to them to clear. Anyone who wants to ride now, please
contact us so we can let you know what's open and we'll get you
a half price permit. Thanks.
A HUGE thanks to those who have supported our efforts to
open our property to mountain biking and hiking. We
are
doing this for you. If
you
have any
input
for
us,
we'd
sure
like to
hear
it. Looking forward to seeing you again this summer.
WE REQUIRE THE USE OF HELMETS & EYE PROTECTION
FOR ALL MOUNTAIN BIKE ACTIVITIES.
All
photos on this site were taken on the
